Submitting Files
Email, CD or via our FTP site (login info available upon request)

QuarkXpress (version 6.5 or lower)

WE DO NOT ACCEPT
PowerPoint or Publisher. Convert these files to PDF before sending.

Acrobat PDFs (preferred format)

• Embed all fonts.
• When using Acrobat Distiller, select PRESS OPTIMIZED.

Illustrator

• Recommended: “Include fonts in document” or “convert fonts to outlines.”
• Save the document as EPS or PDF file.

Microsoft Word

• We cannot use a Word document as a completed or Camera Ready ad.
• Text and graphics will be extracted and entire ad reset.
• Alternative: Copy and paste the text directly into your email message and send images as attachments, in addition, send a fax or submit a pirnted copy of your layout or send a font-embedded PDF.

Photoshop Graphics

We do not recommend creating entire ads in Photoshop
• Acceptable File formats: hi-res jpeg, tiff, eps, or .bmp.
• Do not send graphics intended for web pages, a poor reproduction will result.
• Grayscale scans = 300dpi. Line art = 600dpi. 4/color scans = 180dpi.
The Hersam Acorn newspaper line screen is 85lpi.

Digital Photos

• When taking photos use the large or high quality setting for the best reproduction.
• Do not send photos intended for web pages (low quality settings) as they reproduce very poorly.
