Levitt Pavilion

For more than three decades, the Levitt Pavilion in Westport has presented a summer season of more than 50 nights of free entertainment under the stars, with performances every night except Monday (movies in August) from late June to the end of August. There are usually a few ticketed events, including Stars on Tour and the Summer Gala. The weekly schedule is generally Big Bands/Jazz on Sundays, Potpourri on Tuesdays, Children’s Series on Wednesdays, Classical, Cabaret, Broadway and beyond on Thursday, Party Bands, Pop and DJs on Friday and Blues/Folk/Rock/World on Saturday. A complete schedule will be posted on the Web site by June.

The grounds open 90 minutes before performances (at 7 on Sunday and Wednesday, at 8 other nights) for picnicking; except for ticketed events, there is lawn seating. People may bring food or buy snacks at the concession. Concert-goers are reminded to bring bug repellent; the Pavilion abuts the Saugatuck River’s tidal wetlands. Opening night on June 26 will feature the Cast of Beatlemania; among the groups making their debuts this season are the South Africa rock group, Civil Twilight, on Aug. 27; the pop funk duo, Hank & Cupcakes, on July 16; and roots rockers, The Alternate Routes, on July 9.
