The Bush-Holley Historic Site, headquarters of the Historical Society of the Town of Greenwich, features the circa 1730 National Historic Landmark Bush-Holley House, home of Connecticut’s first art colony. The William Hegarty Gallery presents historically and artistically significant exhibits that focus on the art and artists of the Cos Cob art colony, museum collections, and aspects of Greenwich history.
The current special exhibition is If These Walls Could Talk: An Introduction to Bush-Holley House and Historic Site, which runs through Sept. 6. Opening Sept. 22, the Bush-Holley Historic Site will feature A Stitch in Time: Quilts from the Collection of the Historical Society of the Town of Greenwich. It will include more than 20 quilts from the early 1800s to the late 1900s.
Site hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 1 to 4. Admission to the visitor center/museum shop is free; admission to the gallery and Bush-Holley House is by guided tour; $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors; free for those under six. Tours are offered Wednesday-Sunday at 1, 2 and 3, April 1-Dec. 31; weekends only, Jan. 1-March 31. Administrative offices are open Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.
