Bridging the years: Brunswick Latin students join ‘Little Brothers’ in art, language study

Seventh grade Middle School Latin students were reunited with their fourth grade “Little Brothers” as they presented three PowerPoint research projects that tied into the younger boys’ unit on architecture in their art class. By sketching and building 12-foot-long reproductions of classical temples, the boys studied the differences among main architectural orders from ancient times.

“It was fun to teach the younger kids what we learned about architecture of the past,” said Jordan Washington, a seventh grader. “We saw that our research gave them ideas, and it was fun to see how happy they were to see us whenever we came to the Lower School to help them.”

The younger students were studying Doric, Ionic and Corinthian architecture.
