Dr. John Diamond of South Salem have his artwork of healing on display at the “Art for Healing: Pathway to the Soul — Life Energy Art and Photography by John Diamond, M.D.” exhibit from now to June 11, at the Bendheim Gallery in Greenwich.
Dr. Diamond said all of these paintings are created after deep meditation with the intention of conveying healing to the viewer. The sources of inspiration range from traditional Japanese and Chinese literati painters, Daoist and Zen philosophers, to modern expressionists such as Jackson Pollock and numerous other master painters of the generations. Perhaps the strongest inspiration is the shaman-healers who painted the cave walls of Lascaux, artists imbued with “a fervent sense of purpose — to create works of art that would inspire healing, beauty and peace,” Dr. Diamond said.
