A team from Greenwich Academy traveled to St. Louis last month for the First Lego League competition to compete with other robotics teams from around the country and the world. In total there were 82 teams from the U.S. and 29 other countries and more than 20,000 students in attendance, including two high school level teams.
GA girls and their coaches Gail Sestito and Doug Rendell had a few long days of heady competition balanced by a hearty dose of camaraderie and spirit as the girls made friends from all over the world. The GA girls worked on projects, refining their bots and preparing their presentations. They impressed the judges with their teamwork and attention to task and were awarded the second place trophy for teamwork.
