Deadlines approaching for registering to vote before election

The deadline is approaching for registering to vote in time for the Nov. 8 election.

To meet new voter registration deadlines by mail, an application must be postmarked or received by the registrars of voters by Tuesday, Oct. 25.

The deadline to register in person is Tuesday, Nov. 1.

To register, one must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old by Election Day, and be a Ridgefield resident.

Prospective voters may register in person at the registrars’ office or town clerk’s office at town hall any weekday from 8:30 to 4:30.

People may also request a mail-in voter registration form from the registrars’ office or visit www.sots.state.ct.us and print out the form, complete, sign, and mail it back to the Registrar of Voters at 400 Main Street, Ridgefield CT 06877.

The registrars’ normal office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. and Friday from 9 to noon.
