I am Jessica Mancini and am a candidate for the Board of Finance. My background and small business experience make me the best candidate for the BOF, and I deserve your vote on Nov. 8.
I am a lifelong resident of Ridgefield who attended Ridgefield Public Schools, and am married to Maurice Mancini with two children who attend Ridgefield Public Schools. My Ridgefield roots started in 1903 when my family emigrated from Italy. My parents, Guy and Cheryl Lozach, and grandparents, Gene and Joyce Lavatori, among other relatives, continue to live in Ridgefield. I come from a family of small business owners, as my family owned the beloved landmark Nina’s Restaurant.Continuing my family history of small business ownership, I founded the Ridgefield Studio of Performing Arts in 1999, where I bring dance and theatre arts to over 300 children annually. Founded and run solely by me, this business has prospered during its history. In 2009 I purchased a local gym and changed its name to The Fitness Studio. In two short years this local business is flourishing because I understand what it takes to create and live within a budget, create jobs and deliver outstanding services.
As evident from recent history, small business is the key to our future. My success growing businesses, creating local jobs and managing costs, payroll and investments, are uniquely suited to the Board of Finance. As a lifelong resident, I am committed to making wise decisions that will benefit all of Ridgefield, young and old. I will bring my time-tested success as an entrepreneur, a listening ear and a passion for the town. I want Ridgefield’s future secure so that all of our families can live and grow here for another hundred years, just like my relatives did over one hundred years ago.
