Darien's McGowan plays the Village Jan. 25

Darien singer/songwriter Sarah McGowan will introduce her new song, “I Tried,” at a return performance at New York City’s famed the Red Lion on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 7.

Singing a variety of original and cover songs, McGowan will be accompanied by Jason Polise on guitar and Dylan Spielvogel on bass.

The Red Lion, 51 Bleecker Street, is considered one of Greenwich Village’s premier music venues. Known for showcasing both signed and unsigned bands for more than 20 years, the Red Lion’s list of guests include Davin Degraw, Joss Stone and the Nerds.

McGowan, a freshman at New York University, is a 2010 Darien High School graduate and a four-year member of Darien EMS-Post 53.
