This class is a window into the artists’ world to learn about their lives and their unique painting style. Come and explore the lives of famous artists such as Matisse, Monet, Picasso, Cassatt, and Cezanne. Then, learn about what it was that made their art and paintings unique.
Under the guidance of lecturer and artist Harriet Lacker, then try your hand at and learn to create your own artistic “masterpiece” in the style of each specific artist.
The Beauty of Art & Calligraphy also starts Tuesday, Jan 18, at 12:30.
This class will be a combination of painting and calligraphy, utilizing the written word to create a personal quote, poem or saying (haiku) in pen calligraphy and then enhancing it with a lyrical, free, Chinese brush art image. Surprise yourself with your creativity! Instructor will supply brushes and supplies for first class.
Both classes will be taught be Harriet Lacker, a graduate of New Jersey State Teachers College with a degree in fine arts.
She has taken graduate school course work in acrylic and oil painting, creative writing, calligraphy and illumination.
She was an Art Teacher in both elementary and on the High School level and currently lectures on and teaches art in various community settings.
