Darien Library will offer story-time sessions in the winter and spring this year.
Registration for winter sessions ends Monday, Jan. 24. That session runs from Monday, Jan. 31, to Friday, March 11. Spring registration is open from Monday, Feb. 28, to Monday, March 14. That session runs from Monday, March 21 to Friday, April 29.

Each session is six weeks. Parents and caregivers may register online at darienlibrary.org/youth. Story time is tailored for children up to 6 years old.
Giggles and Rhymes is for pre-walking babies and a parent or caregiver: Join the library for “finger-plays”, songs, rhymes and movement on Wednesdays, from 11:15-11:45, or Thursdays, 11:15-11:45.
Born to Read, for walkers up to 24 months and their parent or caregiver: A fast-paced story time for lively toddlers that includes books, songs, “finger-plays”, and movement on Tuesdays, 9:30-10; Wednesdays, 9:30-10; or Thursdays, 10:30 to 11.
Side By Side, for children 2 years old and their parent or caregiver: Includes books, rhymes, and movement activities on Mondays, 10:30-11; Wednesdays, 10:30-11; or Fridays ,10:30-11.
Totally Preschool gives 3 and 4 year olds a chance to become more independent by engaging in stories, act-outs, and songs on Tuesdays, 1:30 to 2; Fridays, 9:30 to 10; or Fridays, 1:30 to 2.
Bookworms is a more sophisticated story time for 5 and 6 year olds and includes more complex stories: folktales, humor, and adventure. It meets Tuesdays, 4:15-4:45.
Parents will be notified via e-mail of the results of the winter session lottery drawings by Saturday, Jan. 29. Registered story times are for children whose parents are Darien residents, employed full-time in Darien or contributors to the Darien Library Annual Campaign at the $300 level. Parents will use their Library card to register.
Register infants and 1-year-olds based on their ability to walk. For winter session, register children 2 and up older on their age as of Monday, Feb. 14.
Children, teens and adult programs are funded by contributions to the Annual Campaign for the Darien Library.
