All Republicans and all Darienites are invited to attend the Republican Club of Darien’s educational forums in January, February and March.
The theme of the club’s upcoming Speakers’ Forum Series is “tightening the belt.” The series will cover federal, Connecticut and Darien budgets — along with the need to eliminate the “fat” in those budgets so as to intelligently preserve the essential services of government, the club said.
On Thursday, Jan. 27, at 7, Fergus Cullen, executive director of the Yankee Institute, will kick off the series with a talk on Connecticut’s fiscal woes. The talk is to be held in the Darien library auditorium. Seating is limited. RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Cullen is a graduate of Yale College and holds a master’s in public administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. The Yankee Institute for Public Policy is a think tank that develops and advocates solutions to public policy issues. Founded in 1984, the Yankee Institute has offices on Trinity College’s Hartford campus. It is a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and educational organization.
The Republican Club of Darien is a membership organization open to all Republicans. It sponsors social events, town-wide opinion surveys, and educational forums on timely topics.
