I am a candidate for the Board of Finance.
I grew up in Wilton, and then spent 25 years in Florida working in corporate finance. I returned in 2001 with my family to live in Ridgefield. My daughter and my two sons are all graduates of Ridgefield High School. During the early stages of my campaign for the Board of Education, I have had many opportunities to hear the opinions and concerns Ridgefield residents have with regard to the state of education here in Ridgefield.
Be it through my petitioning process, various coffees, Board of Education and town meetings I have attended or just talking with people around town, I have heard from representatives of many demographics.

The recent survey of Ridgefield students (in which they are critical of the lack of respect shown them by adults), the recent death of a high school student, the prevalence of substance abuse/drinking, and the sheer exhaustion of students are evidence they are under real duress. We, as a community, must answer their plea.
