Looking for work? The Census Bureau could use you

U.S. Census Bureau’s Bridgeport Local 2010 Census Office is looking for Darien applicants for temporary, paying jobs with flexible hours to help ensure the 2010 Census is a success. The Bridgeport Office services Darien as well as other towns in coastal Fairfield County.

The bureau will soon be testing applicants at the Darien Library and in other towns. The job pays $22.75 an hour and is expected to last five to 10 weeks.

Freshman Lexi Perticone’s flaming scoring hand stayed alight and that was a better thing even than it has been for DHS.

Perticone, scoring a bundle over the past several games, kept it up, getting the game-winner in a 1-0 girls Wave Hockey win over Trumbull at home on Monday.

It was Perticone’s team-topping 11th of the season. She leads the team with 16 points.

Set up by Ellie Bullitt (6-9 15) and Lauren Perkins (3-7 10), Perticone scored at 10:49 of the second period for the permanent 1-0 lead.

Darien improves to 11-3-1.

The shutout was senior Katharine Macomber’s ninth of the season — driving her goals against average further down into the pit of things you can not see shy of a microscope, at .73.
