A free public lecture covering Easton’s prehistoric history from the Paleolithic period more than 12,000 years ago to the late woodland period will take place Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Easton Public Library community room.

Guest speaker David Silverglade, an archeologist, will speak about the town’s Native-American prehistory and about those who came long before the settlers arrived here in the early 18th century.

The event is sponsored by the Historical Society of Easton.

Silverglade will present an overview of 30 local prehistoric artifact collections and will discuss his identification of 54 new prehistoric archeological sites in town.

A trove of Easton artifacts will be on display including pottery, ring shards and projectile points.
