Easton Arts Council seeks participants in youth show

The Easton Arts Council announces its 13th Annual Youth Art and Talent Show to be held on Sunday, March 11. It's open to all local youth prekindergarten through 12th grade.

The talent show is open to any publicly acceptable act, including instrumental, vocal (no lip-syncing), dance, acting, magic, poetry reading, etc. There is a four-minute time limit on acts. A piano is provided but singers must bring their own accompanist or prerecorded CD and CD player. The opening rehearsal is Sunday, March 4, at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Easton Library. Preregistration by application is required by Friday, Feb. 24. The dress rehearsal is Saturday, March 10, at 2 p.m. in the Community Room. Easton Sports

The Joel Barlow High boys varsity basketball team lost to New Milford 69-62 on Tuesday.

Barlow trailed by a point at hafltime (25-24) before falling farther behind in the third quarter.

Joey Greenspan led Barlow with 22 points. Will Bracken also scored in double digits with 12.

Nolan Stauffer scored nine, including two three-pointers. Phil Moriber sank eight and Jake Lightman scored seven. Todd Waterman finished with two.

Barlow hosts Bunnell on Friday at 7 p.m.
