Jewelers to celebrate anniversary Nov. 7

Kasson Jewelers of Southport is celebrating 60 years in business at its 393 Pequot Ave. store on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 2 to 6 p.m.

“We will be giving away several gift certificates,” said Susan Kasson, who runs the business with her husband Alan.

The store was started by the late Philip Kasson in downtown Bridgeport in 1949.

To commemorate its anniversary, Kasson Jewelers has been offering a 20 percent discount for the birthstone of each month throughout the year, and raffling off a pair of earrings with that month’s stone.
