Nate Ryan caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Rob Ferrara to break a 7-7 tie and Ludlowe went on to defeat Norwalk High, 13-9, at Testa Fuield on Oct. 16.
Ferrara scored on a one-yard run and Zach Garaffalo kicked the conversion point to give coach Matt McClosekey’s Falcons an early 7-0 lead.
Ludlowe (2-3) has won two straight games and will host Brien McMahon (2-3) on Friday night at Emil Taft Field.The Senators are coming off a 45-0 loss to unbeaten Staples High.
Fairfield Warde
Will Halliday tossed a six-yard touchdown pass to Jon Bowers and Luke Allen hit his conversion kick to narrow Warde’s halftime deficit to 14-7, but Wilton High extended its lead and left Tetreau-Davis Field with a 21-13 victory on Oct. 16.
Halliday connected with Terrell Walden for a 22-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
Coach Duncan DellaVolpe’s team traveled to New Canaan to play the state’s top-ranked team at Waveny Park on Oct. 9.
Warde scored twice in the final period, but not before the Rams tallied 35 unanswered points in a battle of FCIAC unbeatens.
Leading 6-0 after one quarter, New Canaan found the end zone three times before the half and added a score in the third period.
Tommy McNamara had a touchdown run from a yard out and Mike Jacon scored on a 60-yard run.
Allen had a conversion kick.
The Mustangs (3-2) will host Trinity Catholic (1-4) Friday night.
The Crusaders are coming off a 35-6 loss to Darien.
Notre Dame
The Lancers’ Brody Brandstatter ran for a 39-yard touchdown and Nick Klarides caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Collin Finnucan in the third quarter before Stratford High rallied back to defeat Notre Dame, 20-15, at Penders Field on Oct. 16.
Trailing the Red Devils 12-0 at the half, Joe Dobbins made it 12-7 with a conversion kick after Brandstatter’s tote midway through the third quarter.
Finnucan’s two-point conversion run gave Notre Dame a 15-12 lead before Stratford went 73 yards on nine plays to get the lead back on Vin Valente’s seven-yard run with 7:458 remaining in the SWC game.
Notre Dame (1-4) will visit Brookfield (1-4) on Friday night.
The Bobcats are coming off a 27-7 loss to New Fairfield.
