Of course, there is another alternative - TOP LINE REVENUE GROWTH. Can we make Ridgefield more attractive to new taxpayers? Maybe someone could start a thread with some ideas there.
I'm happy to start another thread but it seems to me the only way to increase revenue is by making Ridgefield a better value (IMO, we're headed in the wrong direction for that now), attracting more commercial dollars w tax incentives even for small businesses, limit in-town growth, put stores @ street level & expand our small town 'look' down to Farmingville adding flowering trees, lamp posts, etc.

On the bowling alley idea:

According to the equipment manufacturer, you need a population of about 40,000 to support a 24 lane bowling alley. Ridgefield has about 24,000 residents.

Interesting stats here:

Maybe Route 7 would work. You'd more easily attract Danbury, Redding and Wilton residents, possibly giving you the traffic you need.

Interesting if you google map "Bowling Alley, CT", it shows about 30 bowling alleys, with a big hole right in our area.

There used to be a Bowling Alley where Mannen and the Cobbler etc. are today in Girolimetti Court. I don't know how long it was there since I didn't move here until '72.

When we were little we used to go there for Birthday parties. When kids were in Junior High, they would tell their parents they were going there, get dropped off, then roam around town at night.

LeoJ, you may be right. OTOH, what kind of businesses do you think Ridgefield needs to become a destination town? This thread was started to discuss how to solve two problems simultaneously: finding some suitable businesses that could add some tax revenue to help take some pressure off the home owner & possibly increasing property values as Ridgefield becomes more popular. As a long time Ridgefield resident, do you have any constructive suggestions along these lines?
