Venice Restaurant 1 Year, 11 Months ago
I have been a patron of Venice Restaurant for years and loved the old Venice Restaurant before it was knocked down for new Super Shop & Shop.
The new Venice Restaurant is far less appealing compared to the old Venice Restaurant and current employees agree.

However, the problem the current employees are encountering is the adults who can not and/or who refuse to control their off-spring and/or kids of sports teams.

The noise level is out of control at times and diners can not enjoy their meals. Although staff can attempt to control the noise level,
there are adults who defy the order of the day and cause their kids to act-up and make it impossible for respecting adults and other children to savor the fine foods and wines at Venice Restaurant.

The entry room to Venice only allows for a few people to eat a slice or two of pizza while the only dining room which has poor acoustics to seat other pizza eating patrons.

Yes, disgruntled patrons can refuse to eat at Venice or refuse to pay for bad environmental conditions. But, the fact of the matter here is that what can adults do to help disrespecting adults at Venice Restaurant?

Dimitri's on Prospect Street has found one way to deal with this problem: It's split in two.
Dimitri's offers a "family" dining area and an "adults only" dining area, with the kitchen in between. It's like two separate restaurants.
They are very strict on enforcing that arrangement, too, and if parents come into the adult section with youngsters, they are politely, but quickly led into the family section.
If you want affordable food — with peace and quiet — this may be an option.

Had a very good meal here as we tested their Special: $30 FOR TWO .... soup/salad and the main dish from a large selection of meat or pasta. THIS PRICE INCLUDES A BOTTLE OF WINE. The portions were very large, service fast/attentive despite a good crowd, the wine was very good ... I vote this the best deal in town.

Absolutely TRUE. I went to Two steps in danbury with my daughter and future husband to be. Had a good time till a mother and her 6 year old treated the place like a volley ball competition. Funny thing was the owners or who ever the manager was did nothing to correct it. I personally with my ITALIAN TEMPER was not so NICE. I flat out told the person to get her kid under control. She flung out some 4 letter words right in the place and did not give a flip. It is disgraceful when kids act this way and even more disgraceful when the parents condone it. I would never let my kids do that. But today the kids have no direction from their parents. It is sad what the world is coming to. By the way the kid and parent left after i explained to them that she and her husband were also out of control. When i spend good money to go out i would like others to behave. Chucks seems to be a better place for quiet Dinners. Thanks

If you want peace you have to go after "family dinner hour" ... 50 Coins samething, Venice ... surprisingly ... the kids were well behaved ... I think they put something in the water ... or share your wine with em & stuff them with pasta. Knocks them rite out.
