Rabbi Hillel Silverman, the Rabbi Emeritus at Temple Sholom will hold a book discussion and signing on Wednesday, May 20th from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Temple Sholom. His book “The Time of My Life. Sixty Fulfilling Years as a Congregational Rabbi” was recently published.
Rabbi Silverman will share his experiences that transcend the normal pulpit and congregation. Among these experiences are life as a machine gunner in the Haganah; a massive Passover Seder at a Marine boot camp; the Kennedy assassination in Dallas and the real story of Jack Ruby and the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald and Anti-semitism and brotherhood in “Gentleman’s Agreement” Greenwich.
Rabbi Silverman served as senior Rabbi at Temple Sholom from 1981-2001.
