Does anyone minister to those in nursing homes?

Greenwich Chaplaincy Services provides pastoral services for patients, their families, and staff at Greenwich’s nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. Catholic masses, Protestant worship services, and Jewish Shabbat services are provided along with other holiday and memorial services. There are offices at 70 Parsonage Road and 1165 King Street. Are there any Bible study programs?

Greenwich Baptist Church offers Bible study at 11 on Sundays.

The Second Congregational Church offers six Bible study programs.

There is an adult Bible study program on Sundays at noon at the First Lutheran Church.

Bethel A.M.E. Church has a Bible study and prayer meeting on Wednesdays at 2.

Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich offers a variety of Bible study programs including a Women’s Bible Study on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30.

Stanwich Congregational Church offers Bible study on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30.

 

What is Young Life?

Greenwich Young Life is a non-denominational, Christian organization for teens. Young Life meets throughout the school year. Call 340-2123 for details or visit online at greenwich.younglife.org.

Greenwich WyldLife is a similar organization for middle school students, offering a club, camp, and monthly social events. Are there any stores selling religious items?

The Christian Science Reading Room, 333 Greenwich Avenue (869-2503) is a library and bookstore. The Bible, books, Bible study references, Christian Science magazines, The Christian Science Monitor, CDs and tapes are for sale. It is open Monday though Friday from 10 to 4 and Saturday from 10 to 1.

The Christ Church Bookstore (869-9030) offers a wide variety of items including music CDs, cards, angels, jewelry, crosses, candles, rosary beads, crèches, and hundreds of books including Bibles, prayer books, and spiritual classics. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 5, Saturday from 10 to 4,  and Sunday from 10 to 1.
