Health Department plans third H1N1 clinic

Today the Greenwich Department of Health announced that it will be offering a 3rd H1N1 Vaccination Clinic open to all persons who meet the priority group criteria. The State of Connecticut expanded one of the targeted sub-group populations for early vaccination to include all persons aged 25-64 years who have underlying medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications. Prior to this group being expanded, only persons 7 – 24 years of age with medical conditions were being served.

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, The Allan Houston Legacy Foundation hosted the first Greenwich-based benefit at the home of former two-time NBA all-star and captain of the New York Knicks Allan Houston and his wife, Tamara. The private fund-raiser was attended by influential residents of the community as well as stars from the world of professional sports and entertainment. CBS anchor, Maurice DuBois hosted the event and an energetic game of ‘Beat the Pro’ against Mr. Houston was hosted by basketball legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell said this afternoon that Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., founded by Greenwich resident Barry Sternlicht, will relocate its global corporate headquarters to Stamford, bringing millions of dollars in investments and 800 jobs to the state.
