With its walk fund-raiser washed-out by a storm, Abilis is hosting an open house Sunday, Nov. 8, at its Greenwich headquarters to recognize its walkers, kick off the sale of Abilis’ inaugural notecard and jewelry collections and make up for missed donations. However, the originally scheduled timeframe has been shortened. All are welcome to visit Abilis (ABLE-ISS) at 50 Glenville St. anytime between 10:30 and 2:30 for family and community-friendly activities. Abilis, lower Fairfield County’s nonprofit service provider for people with developmental disabilities and their families, formerly was known as ARC.
T-shirts that would have been distributed to walkers at the Walk in the Park for Abilis will be available for pick-up, and individuals and teams who would have walked may bring their T-shirts and signs. Team photographs will be taken. The open house also is an opportunity for individuals who planned to make a donation on walk day to turn in their contributions and be recognized for them. Supporters still may donate online at Abilis.us/walk.
The open house will feature music, live entertainment, jewelry, plant and gift basket sales, face-painting, crafts and games for children. It also marks the official debut of the 2009 Abilis notecard collection.
Refreshments will be served and information about the services available through Abilis will be available.
