French Farm, the first Greenwich property listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has donated 100, select, tropical and hardy plants to the Garden Education Center’s “Election Day Plant Sale” today until 3 p.m.Anyone who buys a $5 plant from GEC’s house plants in the greenhouse, may select $5 worth of French Farm plants, outside...for free.
This choice selection of “bonus” plants includes abutillon, bromeliads, variegated spathiphylum, jasmines, giant elephant ears, purple crinum, papyrus, giant red bananas, hardy calla lily, purple sugar cane, white bamboo, variegated fig, phormium, black mondo grass and others.
Visitors may bring their gardening questions. David Wierdsma of French Farm will try to answer them all.
The Garden Education Center is at 130 Bible Street in Cos Cob.
