American Heart Association 'goes red' for women

The American Heart Association (AHA) invites women to join in the conversation at the Women’s Leadership Breakfast to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 7:45 a.m. at the Delamar Hotel, 500 Steamboat Road.

Go Red for Women is the AHA’s national movement that celebrates the energy and passion of women banning together to wipe out heart disease and stroke.

“The Leadership Breakfast is designed to celebrate the power and authentic voice of women, our influence and strength in numbers,” said Mia Schipani, director of business development for the F.D. Rich Company and moderator of the leadership breakfast. “Go Red for Women is gaining momentum as more and more leaders are joining our voice for action, and with events like these we hope to foster this increasingly powerful sphere of influencers by providing exclusive professional development, education, inspiration and networking opportunities.”

Panelists for the breakfast include Caroline Gundeck, executive director and head of business development for national sales at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; Julie Jansen, speaker, trainer, coach and author of I Don’t Know What I Want, But I Know It’s Not This: A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Gratifying Work and You Want Me to Work with Who? Eleven Keys to A Stress-free, Satisfying and Successful Work Life; Dr. Janet Taylor, LLuminari expert, consumer health strategist, certified life coach, Family Circle columnist and Today Show contributor; Rene Weisman, author of Winning in A Man’s World: Advice for Women Who Want to Succeed and the Men Who Work with Them.

The Go Red for Women movement is locally sponsored by Entergy and Stamford Hospital. The Women’s Leadership Breakfast is also sponsored by BNY Mellon Wealth Management.
