Family Fourth pops Saturday

Gates will open at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at Waveny Park, for the 2009 Family Fourth celebration.

Passes are available at the First Selectman’s Office and Recreation Department in Waveny Park during regular business hours through today, Thursday, July 2. Passes will be sold in front of Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, and are available at the Town Pool. Passes must be purchased in advance.

New Canaan High School has been then hot spot for Connecticut football for the past four years.

The run started with the Curtis Casali-led squad, which appeared in two State tournaments and one FCIAC final and won a State championship in 2006 as tailback Dan Neeleman and fullback David Reed ran wild in the final.
