A local version of the Highland Games was a welcome change for Will and Dave Barron.
Competing as professionals, the two brothers often travel to different parts of the country as well as overseas. Yet when the annual Round Hill Highland Games in Norwalk added a pro division, the former Westonites were back for the first time in several years.
Both would take advantage of the opportunity. Will finished as the winner in the men’s division and Dave was third on Saturday, June 27, at Cranbury Park in Norwalk.
“I was told I won by a point,” said Will, noting it came down to a second place vs. third in one event. “It was quite close.”
The Weston school board announced last week that Kevin Santiana, a grade two teacher at Hurlbutt Elementary School, will fill the assistant principal post at the school beginning Aug. 1.
