Interior décor and live theatre merge as one during May to benefit a local charity dedicated to providing a venue for emerging talent.
Set in an historic mansion on 52 acres in New Canaan, Le Beau Chateau, “Spring Awakening” will feature table-top designs by notable interior designers, inspired by Broadway show themes from popular hits such as “A Secret Garden,” “Jekyll & Hyde,” “Peter Pan,” “Phantom of the Opera” and “A Little Night Music.”
The show will benefit Summer Theatre of New Canaan.For the opening gala and special events, professional actors and Broadway performers will present staged musical scenes from popular Broadway shows during the event. The show runs Thursday through Sunday, May 13-16. An opening night preview party will be from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The event is open to the public May 13-15, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 16, noon to 5.

Designers include: Barbara Ostrom, Catherine Cleare, Charles Pavarini, Connie Beale, Harry Heissman, Irwin Feld, Peter Lenz, Olga Adler, Ondine Karady, Randall Tarasuk, Susan Anthony and Keith Simpson.
The table-top show will be anchored by a table-scape by the firm of event chairman Charles Pavarini III.
“Not only will our patrons see and explore exciting interior design settings inspired by Broadway musicals, but will become immersed in live performances reflecting those same theatrical inspirations,” said Melody Libonati, STONC founder and artistic director.
