New Canaan recording artist Don Shelden will pay tribute to Frank Sinatra as he performs “The Frank Sinatra Songbook” at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 17, at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College in Purchase, N.Y.
Shelden, the author of “That’s What God Looks Like To Me,” has worked with many musicians, particularly the Grammy Award-winning Marion Evans on his two previous albums, “Imagination” (1999) and “Any Swing Goes” (2001). He has also received inspiration from pianist Mike Renzi, pianist and conductor Nick Perito and guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli.
Joining Sheldon will be jazz singer Annette Sanders and legends Bucky Pizzarelli, who will be on the guitar, and Derek Smith on the piano. The Rick Visone All-Star Big Band will also play.
Tickets for the show are on sale. They may be purchased from the box office at the Pepsico Theatre at Purchase College by calling 914-251-6200 or visiting artscenter.org.
