Adopt-A-Sugar Maple Tree season kickoff, 10 a.m. New Canaan Nature Center. Residents are invited to “adopt” one of the center’s 30 maple trees for the tapping season. Participants will learn about and actively participate in the maple syrup making process by tapping a tree, collecting the sap and finally enjoying the finished product. 30th annual Juried Photography Exhibition, Carriage Barn Arts Center in Waveny Park. “Navigating the Teen Party Scene,” 9:30 a.m. New Canaan High School; 7 p.m. Outback Teen Center. Meg Domino, executive director of New Canaan CARES, talks about the ‘new’ party scene kids experience. She will discuss how parents can navigate the scene’s ups and downs, what factors contribute to alcohol and other drug use and what protective factors limit high-risk behaviors associated with the teen party scene, and how appropriate limits can be set and enforced, while simultaneously encouraging independence and appropriate risk-taking.
