CUNY professor teaches students

Dr. Robert Beuka of the City University of New York visited John Jay High School’s Advanced Placement English classes to conduct Socratic seminars on Monday, Nov. 23. Dr. Beuka’s seminars were designed to give students an idea of how college freshman seminars would be conducted, and tied into the classes’ discussions of The Great Gatsby. His visit was sponsored by ArtsALIVE!, the high school’s arts booster club. Dr. Beuka is the editor of the F. Scott Fitzgerald Society Newsletter.
