Thanks to community for helping after fire destroyed home

To the Editors:

Water, water everywhere but not a drop to put on a fire! This is an issue I pledge to work on for the lake communities until it is satisfactorily solved. But first, Betty and I want to thank all the firemen from South Salem and the surrounding towns who did their very best in a losing battle.

We also want to thank our friends, neighbors and everyone who has offered us shelter, given us warm clothing, delivered food to our doorstep and cared for us like family. There are no words to say how grateful we are.
