To the Editors:
A serious thought: how two people saved some lives, brought 30,000 loyal American citizens home in time to keep Christmas with their folks, and provided a bright gleam in the morally challenged void.
With yes to the eternal war tricked and smuggled into place, assembling the odd war had become relatively simple. From the elegant lies woven by the embezzler called curveball, to the ministry of drones, economic draftees, glorying generals, Blackwater outlaws, head and leg casualties (640,000 disability applicants to the Department of Defense's VA), the self-transitioned, and the survivors on both sides, war was holy! The best part, crooks got to distribute largesse to their wealthy Halli clients.
Then someone allegedly leaked a bloody video of the whacking of 12 innocents on a bloody Baghdad street, including the small boy and girl screaming, touched by one soldier, then ordered to be left to die. Thus starts the gut-spilled march to awe-full, shocking peace.
Bradley Manning stands accused of aiding the enemy. I guess the enemy is us, you and me and our Iraqi brethren who, I dare to hope, are wroth that the murderers of innocents walk free while those who expose them face death. The oath Bradley Manning swore is to uphold the United States Constitution! If he did expose the slaughter of innocents, Private Manning did precisely that. I fancy he will pay our bill for this atrocity, a bit of it at least; thus Kyrie eleison, qui tollis peccata mundi.
