To the Editors:
I’ve written from Lewisboro where I grew up, from Colorado where I go school, and now from Argentina where I’m spending the semester. The reason I write this letter is because I just saw pictures of the Falcon Ridge development and can’t help but feel deep regret. One day, we all come home.I’ve always been inspired by Town Supervisor Ed Brancati’s story of leaving Lewisboro to learn of the world, but knowing that hills, forests, and streams of his youth were where he would one day come back. When I see a town Planning Board that fails its people, when I see a development being built that uses the ruinous techniques of the past, and when I see this all happen in a year in which the collapse of the economy has forced us to question our greed, I have to ask, What I will come back to? It all kind of makes me question that character that Lewisboro taught me.
