Nicholas Kapoor
Town Council
Democrat
Biography: I am a lifelong resident of Monroe and hold a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and government and politics, and am currently pursuing my M.B.A., all from Sacred Heart University. After an internship with State Rep. Christopher Lyddy (D-Newtown) I was moved and inspired to get involved and run for Town Council.
Statement: I believe I should have the vote of Monroe’s residents because I have the energy, enthusiasm, passion and drive to be a member of the Monroe Town Council. I want to make Monroe the best Monroe it can be right now. This can be accomplished through keeping the tax burden low and off households while expanding the commercial tax base with sound and logical economic development — without severely disrupting funding to programs, services and education. Moreover, we need to end the political bickering now. I believe I can help make these changes and above all “Move Monroe Forward.”
