It was brought to the Courier's attention that our report of the election winners on the Board of Finance was in accurate.
While Republican Michael Manjos won based on the number of votes, due to a rule in the town charter regarding minority representation on boards and commissions, a democrat needed to be elected. Therefore, incumbent Gabriella DiBlasi, the Democratic with the next highest votes, was rightfully re-elected to the Board of Finance. Michael Manjos was not elected, despite garnering the most votes.
Also, incumbent Republican board member Donna Lane was newly elected to the Board of Education, therefore she will resign her position on the Board of Finance. This leaves an opening for a Republican to fill for a two-year term.
The Board of Finance has six members. Post election, the board stands thus:
Gabriella DiBlasi (D)
Dan Hunsberger (D)
Mark Reed (R)
Ron Bunovsky (R)
Chris Baudouin (R)
(Donna Lane – to be replaced)(R)
