Grace Community Church’s weekly program for teens, entitled the GYG (Grace Youth Gathering), is a group run by teens for teens that meets Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria of Saxe Middle School. The program provides an “accepting and exciting environment for middle and high-schoolers to come together to explore deeper questions about life,” according to the church. A student-led band provides modern music and interactive speakers address teen-relevant topics.
The GYG also has a podcast on iTunes (itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/grace-youth-gathering/id428123739), so that busy students can download sessions anytime, anywhere.
On Sunday, November 6, Conor Grennan of New Canaan, author of the best-selling novel “Little Princes,” and president and founder of Next Generation Nepal (NGN), will address the GYG. The NGN is a non profit organization that reconnects trafficked children with their families. Grennan recently returned from Nepal, where he visited some of the boys he knew from his past work there. Jackson Prince, a junior at St. Luke’s School, accompanied Grennan on the Nepal trip and will also share what he learned.
Grace Community Church’s Sunday service is at 9:30 a.m. at Saxe. Nursery care is available for babies through three years old. For more information visit gracecommunity.info.
