The New Canaan Health Department has rescheduled its seasonal flu clinic for Sunday, Oct. 18 at Saxe Middle School. The clinic had originally been scheduled for October 3 but was postponed due to increased demand for the vaccine from several providers as well as production issues with simultaneously producing the new H1N1 vaccine.
The clinic will last from 1-5 p.m. Those with last names beginning with the letter A through L may go between 1 and 3 p.m.; those with last names beginning with M through Z may go from 3-5 p.m.
Seasonal flu shots are also available at local doctors’ offices, both Walgreen’s and CVS in New Canaan, the Stamford Hospital Tully Center, Costco, Shop-Rite, and Stop and Shop. Nursing and Home Care is also offering several seasonal flu clinics in the area.
Shots for the H1N1 flu are expected to be made available at some point during the fall season.
As information changes daily, residents are encouraged to check with their doctors, the town or the Centers for Disease Control.
