Composer, director teaches workshop

The private voice students at the Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan recently participated in a workshop given by David Friedman, a multi-platinum recording artist, Broadway music director and teacher and lecturer. Friedman spoke to students, ages 10 to 18, and worked with them on their vocal performance skills.

His past work includes serving as the musical director for the Broadway production of “Beauty & The Beast,” and as conductor and vocal arranger for Disney classics such as “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

His show “Chasing Nicolette” is slated for Broadway next season.
