Lunch benefits philanthropy fund

The New Canaan Community Foundation will host its fifth annual philanthropy luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, November 12, at Woodway Country Club in Darien. All proceeds will benefit the foundation’s Young Philanthropist Fund, a committee of high school-aged residents that works with foundation staff and board members to gain an understanding of nonprofit organizations and experience the grant-making process that funds programs addressing community needs.

Tracy Gary, who educates and supports donors, family foundations, financial service organizations and nonprofits about the stewardship of money, leadership, legacy and philanthropy, is the keynote speaker. She has appeared on “Oprah,” “Today” and NPR, and has published many articles and books.

Tickets are $75, $150 or $1,000 for a table of 10. For more, call 966-0231 or visit newcanaancf.org.
