Lapham Community Center will offer a variety of activities this coming week.
The free Friday film, “Four Minutes,” is a German movie about an elderly piano teacher and her talented convict student. Wednesday’s movie, “Tender Mercies,” is about an alcoholic drifter. It will be shown at 1:30 p.m.•
Dr. Robert Bottone from the Cosmetic Doctors Center will update an audience on the latest technology in nonsurgical cosmetic treatment, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.

The Exploding Book Group will meet with Cynde Lahey at 2 p.m. on Tuesday to discuss “South of Broad” by Pat Conroy. Copies of the book are available at the New Canaan Library.

A new Teaching Company classical music course has been added to the Lapham schedule. “Beethoven: His Life and Music,” taught by Robert Greenberg of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, will begin this week at 1 p.m Tuesday. There is no fee.

The annual senior center Thanksgiving lunch will be held at Waveny House on Wednesday. A traditional turkey lunch will be followed by the annual concert by the St. Luke’s School Take Nine and Acafella groups.
