Hospice addresses seasonal grief

Mid-Fairfield Hospice is hosting a workshop at the New Canaan Library on coping with loss during the holiday season from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 17.

The workshop will be moderated by licensed clinical social worker Karen Judd, the hospice’s interfaith minister.

“Grief is a simple word,” said Rev. Judd in a press release, “and it’s completely inadequate to describe the depth of loss that people experience, and the multitude of issues involved with losses such as the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, aging, or the loss of one’s ability. In this workshop we will discuss feelings of grief that well up during the holiday season and discover tasks for healing and strategies for coping during this difficult time of year.”

The workshop is open to the public and there is no fee for participation, but advanced registration is suggested. For additional information or to register, call the hospice at 203-762-8958, ext. 255.
