Teachers, administrators, students and alumni of New Canaan Country School came together at the American Diabetes Associations’ Diabetes Walk October 4, raising more than $2,000 with their team, the “Cougars.” Participants walked in honor of Ashley Dunnam, 2009 youth ambassador of New Canaan, who was diagnosed with the disease last year at age eight.
Pictured, from left, are Kathy Kravec, Margot Henderson, Maria Sette, Melissa Heus, Valerie Schirmer, Nancy Hayes, Chantal Detlefs, Sue Ewing, Margaret Ogden-Hughes, Dana Mallozzi and Fraser Randolph. Money raised will be used to help fund research to find a cure for the 23.6 million Americans who currently live with diabetes.
