Christmas trees and stands on sale in Kiwanis Park

As it has done for more than 50 years at Kiwanis Park, The Exchange Club of New Canaan will sell Christmas trees, wreaths, roping, tree stands, a variety of lights, ornaments and other decorations, starting Saturday, November 28.

The sale will run until Christmas Eve, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.

Rides for children on the Old Faithful vintage fire truck will be available in the park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, November 28, December 5 and 12.

On December 5, the fire truck will leave South School at 11 a.m. to give Santa a ride into downtown New Canaan and then proceed to Kiwanis Park to provide additional rides until 1 p.m.

Santa’s workshop and village will be open in the Merrie Bee Cabin at Kiwanis Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, starting November 28 until December 20. Letters to Santa may be placed in the North Pole mailboxes at Kiwanis Park or inside the New Canaan Library entrance.

All proceeds support Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center for the prevention of child abuse and other local causes.
