Toddler Time changes it up

Toddler Time, a school located within the Congregational Church of New Canaan, is now accepting enrollment for the 2010-11 school year for children ages two to five years old.

There are several changes to the new academic year, including a longer school year that follows the public school’s calendar. Additionally, the two-year-old program has been expanded; a five-day option is offered for three year olds; a five-day program is offered for four year olds with two extended days to 1 p.m., and a five-day morning pre-kindergarten program is offered with three extended days to 2 p.m.

The extended hours are designed to prepare the children for full-day kindergarten and to allow more time for enrichment such as music and movement, according to a press release. The children may also participate in a lunch-and-learn program designed by director Niki Guida.

Toddler Time opened this year for its 30th year under new leadership from Barbara Davis and Carolyn Williams. In addition to revamping the schedule, they have also introduced new traditions such as the Boo Fest, Sharing Feast, Polar Express and Mystery Reader.

Informational tours are offered the first and third Tuesday of every month, and an open house is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 15. Early enrollment for current families and Congregational Church members is extended to Monday, November 30. Starting Tuesday, December 1, enrollment is granted on a first come, first served basis.
