Former stockbroker Norb Vonnegut will talk about his financial thriller, “Top Producer,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 3, at the New Canaan Library. Event co-sponsor Elm Street Books will have copies of the book available for purchase and signing.
Vonnegut, who graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1980 and earned his master in business administration degree from Harvard Business School in 1986, takes readers into the world of Grove O’Rourke, a rising star at the boutique brokerage firm of Sachs, Kidder and Carnegie. After O’Rourke witnesses the gruesome death of his best friend Charlie Keleman, a wealthy hedge fund manager, he sets out to help Keleman’s widow. As O’Rourke starts to piece everything together, he discovers a web of deceit and finds that his life is in danger, according to a press release.
Vonnegut relies on his career in private wealth management, most recently as a managing director with a finance boutique in New York City, for book material.
