Susan Bartlett Crater, the granddaughter of interior designer Sister Parish, will sign copies of “Sister Parish Design: On Decorating,” from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12, at Elm Street Books.
In the book, Crater and Cameron carry on the tradition of Parish, drawing on their backgrounds and experiences. With the help of some of the most renowned decorators in the business, they explain how to translate these details into inspired surroundings.
Crater practiced law before starting a small company, Susan Crater Decoupage. She made objects as well as collages and painted furniture for individuals, decorators and stores, such as Saks Fifth Avenue. She and her mother, Apple Bartlett, also wrote “Sister, the Life of Legendary Decorator Mrs. Henry Parish II.” She currently works full time for Sister Parish Design.
Cameron worked for Sister Parish at Parish-Hadley Associates for 15 years. She then started her own firm, Libby Cameron, LLC, located in Larchmont, N.Y. She has decorated houses all over the United States, England and the Bahamas. Her work has been published in House Beautiful, House & Garden, Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, The New York Times and other magazines and books.
With more than 32 prints and wallpapers, Sister Parish Design’s work is frequently featured in Architectural Digest, House & Garden, House Beautiful and Cottage Living, among others.
