Author talks ‘Wishin’ for series

Connecticut author Wally Lamb will talk about and sign copies of his latest book, “Wishin’ and Hopin’: A Christmas Story,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, at the New Canaan Library, as part of the “Authors on Stage” series. It is co-sponsored by Elm Street Books.

After the release of “The Hour I First Believed,” Lamb is back with another story, revisiting with the 1960s middle-aged narrator, Felix Funicello. The story details a few months in Funicello’s childhood, capped by an unexpectedly memorable Christmas.

Lamb also wrote “She’s Come Undone” and “I Know This Much Is True.”

He also edited “Couldn’t Keep It to Myself” and “I’ll Fly Away,” essays from students in his writing workshop at York Correctional Institution, a women’s prison where he has been a volunteer facilitator for the past 10 years.
