Locals fight breast cancer with style

Breast cancer survivors and their doctors hit the catwalk for Stamford Hospital’s annual Paint the Town Pink fashion show at Saks Fifth Avenue in the Stamford Town Center on October 14. Participants included 15 breast cancer survivors and 10 physicians, including medical and radiation oncologists and surgeons.

Paint the Town Pink is a community-wide effort that runs throughout the month of October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The campaign is sponsored by the hospital in conjunction with organizations throughout the communities of New Canaan, Darien and Stamford.

The initiative’s goal is to raise awareness for breast cancer-related issues such as screenings and early detection, as well as the treatment and services available in the area, according to a press release.
